Each page is rendered to a small preview image in your browser, and the pixels are checked — if a page is almost entirely white with no meaningful content, it's flagged with a "Blank" badge. This also catches blank scanned pages, not just empty digital pages. It's a strong heuristic, so always glance at the thumbnails before confirming deletion.

Each rendered thumbnail is converted into a small visual fingerprint (a perceptual hash) and compared against every other page's fingerprint. Pages that are visually identical or near-identical are grouped together, and all copies except the first occurrence in each group are flagged — so selecting "Duplicate Pages" keeps one copy and marks the repeats for removal. Since it compares actual pixels, it also catches duplicate scans, not just exact digital copies.

These three checks run automatically right after your PDF is analyzed, since they inspect each page's internal image and annotation data. "Large Image" flags pages containing high-resolution (800px+) embedded images, regardless of how small they're displayed on the page. "Scanned" flags pages with no extractable text but visible image content (a strong sign the page is a scan rather than a digital document). "Annotations" flags pages containing comments, highlights, or markup added by a PDF reader — not just visually-highlighted-looking text, but real PDF annotation objects.

Each rendered page is sampled pixel by pixel — if a meaningful portion of pixels have noticeably different red, green, and blue values (i.e. they're not shades of gray), the page is flagged as "Color". Otherwise it's flagged "Black & White". This is useful for spotting a stray color page mixed into an otherwise grayscale scanned document, or vice versa.

Two ways: type a range like 2-5, 8, 12-15 into the "Select Range" box and click the button, or click a page and then Shift+click another page to select every page in between — just like selecting files in a folder. Both add to your existing selection rather than replacing it.

The tool always shows how many pages will remain after deletion (e.g. "6 selected → 4 will remain"). If you've selected 80% or more of the document, a confirmation prompt appears before the download starts — a safety check in case a page or range was selected by mistake.
